1st year
So I was just browsing and thinking about this community.  How did each one of your first year of either college or work or whatever it is that you did go for you?  Did you gain the infamous "freshman fifteen", did you finally break out of your shell and become more outgoing?  How was the workload for everyone?

For me I had a blast this year.  It's crazy but I can't believe that the first year is over for me just about in a week.  Today was the last day of classes and now Finals start on Thursday for us.  I must say though that I am going to miss so many people in my dorm, I've made amazing friends and I can't believe that we've only been in school for 9 months but I felt like I knew them my entire life.  I must say I didn't change that much though, stayed the same but did become a little bit more outgoing and I didn't gain the freshman fifteen which I must say I am happy about.

Like a lot of people, I switched majors, from Liberal Studies to English.

First semester was horrible -- I had a tough time adjusting academically AND socially. Academically, I let myself get lazy -- senior year of high school was a joke, and I let it get to me. I ended up with a 1.7 GPA the first semester and got put on academic probation. Second semester, I'm happy to report, I feel MUCH better about and I'm expecting a 3.0 at least. :)

My social life during first semester was strange. A lot of my best friends are a year younger, graduating this June, and we fell out of touch for the first half of the school year. I didn't connect with my roommate or anyone in my dorm hall, but I did make a handful of new friends.

I gained about four of the freshman fifteen (haha), and I think I did come out of my shell during second semester. :)

So, overall... first semester = horrific, second semester = awesome :)
